Kurdistan National Congress (KNC)
Declaration of Reactivation
Compatriots of Kurdistan! Strivers on the path of sovereignty and freedom!
As a historic nation in the heart of the Middle East, the Kurdish Nation has been trampled under the shadow of occupation and artificial division for more than a century. A nation that perceives its own existence but fails to attempt the manifestation of that collective existence is, in reality, deciding upon its own subjugation—a decision stemming from the absence of a collective will to decide. A nation without a domain, without active political will, and without the order of legal activity across its borders, stands perpetually before the threat of extinction.
The Kurdistan National Congress (KNC), established in 1985 as a national vessel to consolidate capabilities and unify political discourse, has traversed significant milestones in its history. Although its activities slowed after 2010, the historic necessity for a “Mother Institution” has never ceased. Today, a new generation of strategists and patriots of Kurdistan, with an iron will and a new vision, announces the Reactivation of the Kurdistan National Congress (KNC).
The Main Objectives of this Reactivation:
• Reviving National Will: Shifting the mentality from that of an “oppressed minority” to that of a “nation possessing land and sovereignty.”
• Strategic Institution-Building: Operating based on the Constitution of Kurdistan to organize national relations both domestically and abroad.
• Formulating a Unified Discourse: Overcoming political fragmentation and consolidating all capabilities within the vessel of supreme national interest.
• Confronting Occupation: Liberating Kurdistan from the state of occupation and striving for the high goal of independence and the establishment of the State of Kurdistan.
The Kurdistan National Congress is a chamber for national reflection and decision-making, working for the transitional phase toward independence and sovereignty. Through the establishment of specialized organs and competent teams based on meritocracy, we are reorganizing all Kurdish strategic sectors within legal, diplomatic, and financial infrastructures. Our goal is to transform the fragmented energy of the homeland and the diaspora into an institutional power that rejects political subservience and cements national identity at the international level as a nation possessing will.
The Kurdistan National Congress does not define itself in opposition to any existing party, organization, or institution anywhere in Kurdistan. Rather, it declares itself as a vessel for Kurdistani cooperation and solidarity based on the principle of national belonging.
On this occasion, we call upon all political parties, small and large human rights, cultural, and social organizations, as well as intellectuals and patriots across Kurdistan and the Diaspora, to be collaborators and supporters in this new caravan. Our victory lies in our unity and our institutionalization.
Long Live Kurdistan, Long Live Sovereignty and Independence.
